Welcome To New Covenant Church
WHO WE ARE
NEW COVENANT CHURCH operates on the three pillars of Discipleship, Cell Group, and Celebration. The emphasis is on individual members making disciples on a one-to-one basis. The disciples meet from house to house for fellowship, mutual support and mentoring. These groups then meet on Sundays to celebrate Christ in corporate worship and ministry of the Word.
In a nation the branches of the church are divided into conferences headed by Conference Pastors. These pastors form the national council that govern and guide the affairs of the church, and are led by a National Overseer. In turn the National Overseers together with the General Overseer lead the global network of ministers.
Currently we operate in over 30 countries: from Britain to Brazil, from Nigeria to Pakistan, from Spain to Canada, from Poland to USA.
NCC in Nigeria has over 500 branches. The goal of the church is to transform lives to light and freedom in Jesus Christ. We are made kings and priests by Jesus and therefore We can exercise DOMINION here on earth.
OUR VISION
I will be their God and they shall be my people.– Hebrews 8:10b
OUR MISSION
The mission of the New Covenant Church is to build city churches around the world. These churches are to be at least 1% of the local population. This will be our contribution to the joint effort of all other churches to disciple the nations as Jesus Christ commissioned.
- To bring every member into maturity in Christ.
- To foster deeper and meaningful fellowship.
- To encourage and work for the unity among all believers.
- To work in the community.
- To play a positive role in the life of the nation.
- To provide opportunity for service.
In the Great Commission, our Lord commands us to “make disciples of all nations”. To realistically evangelize the world every believer must be equipped and empowered to win souls and bring them to maturity. In other words, it is the duty of each Christian to duplicate himself/herself in a new convert to Christ. Training and materials are provided for each member to carry out one to one follow-up of new converts who can soon become disciples, able to win others to Christ.
A return to the original pattern of the church entails engaging only in biblical teaching and practices, especially as expounded in the New Testament by Jesus Christ Himself in the Gospels, and by the Apostles in the Epistles. If Jesus is the Founder and Head of the Church, then the Church needs to preach, teach and practice only what He (Jesus) taught. God must be perceived only from the standpoint of the Character and Nature as revealed by the person of Jesus Christ; Who is the brightness of glory, even the express image of the Father.
LIBERTY
Apostles and prophets are vital parts of the foundation of the Church. To start a church without this foundation is to compound the problem we already have. Though we may have a statement of faith, aims and objectives, these are merely a framework. They cannot form the basis of the church. Yet the dilemma facing many sincere servants of God who want to serve God with a clear conscience, in an atmosphere of liberty, and under Biblical leadership, without domination, is in finding a spiritual home where there is true apostolic vision.
Central to this vision is the provision of a platform for people who have the call of God on their lives and who are willing to enter into relationship and partnership in ministry. We endeavour to create opportunities for these ministries to find expression and fulfillment.
